The Dream

I fell in love with baking when I was about 13. My cousin and I started to experiment in the kitchen together one summer and since then, I just wanted to experiment more with different flavors. That summer is when my dream was born…I want to have my own bakery.

My future bakery will be a small space on the bottom floor of an old, brick house, leaning on the house next to it and another leans on it and so on. The outside of the bakery will have a large display window, white frame and door. The front will be decorated with pink flowers, and during the winter there will be small Christmas trees. Above the bakery will be my apartment. The bakery will have a warm feel to it with white and gold finishes. It will be a bright, cozy space away from the business of the outside world.

With the bakery, there will be a small cafe area with a few tables and chairs. The chairs and tables will be white metal with gold cushions on the chairs (not sparkly though, not a fan of sparkly things, but that’s just my opinion). The decor will be delicate and simple which fits my personal style.

I will be providing my customers with unique, lovable pastries that are homemade style with a healthier twist straying away from the artificial flavors and overly sugary sweets. While I plan on having some traditional and common pastries, I want to focus on ones from all around the world, mainly inspired by European flavors that I have grown up with. My customers will be able to try a free sample of the pastry of the day.

Once my bakery gains popularity, I would like to start small group classes of how to make some of the delicacies. I want to meet my customers beyond just seller and buyer. I hope to get to know them and share my passion besides just selling what I make.

The goal for owning this bakery is to make people happy. To make them smile after a long day when they come in to get some pastries for dessert or coffee and a muffin in the morning. Starting this blog is my first step to eventually opening my own bakery and making this dream become a reality.

I believe that I can be truly happy with a profession like this one unlike the one I am studying for right now. I want to be my own boss and succeed in something I truly love. Even though it will be a lot of hard work creating this dream, it will be worth it because I will be waking up to my dream being real not just in my imagination.
