1 cup of flour
1 tsp of baking powder
1 1/3 sticks of butter
4.5 oz (125 g) of grated Parmesan cheese
2 egg yolks + 1 whole egg
Put all the ingredients in a bowl. When you separate the eggs, set aside the egg whites as you will need them later.
Mix all the ingredients well.
Take a scoop of the dough into your hand, and on a flat surface, roll it with your hands until it becomes a long roll.
Fold it in half and twist it. Do that with all of the dough.
Place it on a parchment covered baking sheet. Smear the sticks with the egg whites. This will give them a gold color once they bake.
Bake at 350 degrees (180 Celsius) for 20 min or until golden.
I like serving these Parmesan sticks with some warm soup. My family really likes them. We had these on Christmas Eve with some soup and later we munched on the left over ones as they are irresistible.
