Apple Pockets

Level of Difficulty: Easy

  • 2.5 cups of flour
  • 2 sticks of butter (250 g)
  • 5.5 oz (150 g) of cream cheese
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp of baking powder
  • 4-5 medium apples

  • Powdered sugar
  • Just enough boiling water to make the sugar turn into glaze

*Amount of glaze is up to you and how many pockets you end up with

Peel the apples and cut them into medium cubes.

Place all ingredients in a bowl and mix with your hands until all ingredients are combined.

Roll the dough into a thin layer.

Cut the dough into squares.

Place the apple in the middle of the square and close it up pulling the corners into the center.

Place on a cookie sheet.

Bake for 15 min at 375 F (190 C)

Top off with glaze.

These are delicious little apple treats. Be careful because they are addicting haha. You can’t just eat one and not want more. The dough contains no sugar or eggs which might come as a surprise to many, and you maybe thinking, won’t these be bland? The answer is no. The apple is sweet and the glaze provides just enough sugar to make these flavorful. They are absolutely delicious.

These will make a great Thanksgiving treat as you watch football or chat with your family and friends. They are easy to make and relatively healthy when it comes to the world of sweets. I made an entire platter and they were all gone withing 24 hours, so I think you and your friends and family will enjoy it just as much as mine did 🙂

Enjoy and Happy Thanksgiving!

  2. What a great idea! The cream cheese is an fantastic ingredient too, as it must infuse these with the sensation, almost, of enjoying an apple dumpling with a glass of milk.
