Dough
- 3 oz (85 g) of butter
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- Almost 1 cup of flour
- 1 tsp of baking powder
- 3 oz (85 g) of chocolate chips
First, mix the sugar and butter until they form a white, fluffy mixture.
Then, add the egg and egg yolk mixing in between additions.
Add the remainder of the ingredients.
Pour the dough into a bread pan that was buttered first.
Topping
- 1/2 cup of flour
- 3 Tbs of sugar
- 3 Tbs of brown sugar
- 2 oz (55 g) of butter
Melt the butter.
Add the sugars and flour and mix everything together.
Sprinkle the topping on the raw dough
Bake at 340 F (170 C) for 45-55 min.
Sprinkle with confectioners sugar after it cools.
Thoughts
I found this recipe on one of my favorite polish baking blogs. I wanted to make something with chocolate chips as I had some left over from a cake I made awhile ago.
This loaf turned out to be very easy to make and delicious. I wish there was more of it. It is a great recipe for when you don’t have much time, but you are craving baking something with chocolate.

Oh, wow! This looks great, but the streusel (or whatever it’s called in Poland) on top vaults it to immortality. Magnificent entry, magnificent work!
