Crust

  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 of a stick of butter (about 60 g)
  • 1 egg

Mix all ingredients with your hands until they create a smooth dough.

Spread it out in a tart or pie pan.

With a fork, poke some holes in the crust.

Bake at 350 F (180 C) 15-20 min

Filling

  • 2 oz (57 g) of cream cheese
  • 1/3 cup of plain yogurt
  • 2 Tbsp of sugar
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 3-4 mangoes

Mix the crams cheese, yogurt, sugar, and vanilla extract.

Spread the mixture onto the cooled crust.

Cut the mango into really thin slices, and arrange the slices to achieve the flower look. First, place the slices on the outer edge and then do the next rows until it is entirely filled.

Thoughts

I fell in love with this tart! It looks absolutely gorgeous and as if it was hard to make, but in fact it is not too hard. It is very impressive looking and the flavor is amazing. I found the original recipe on Tasty. However, I modified it a lot by using my favorite crust recipe and not using orange juice and zest for the cream cheese and yogurt filling as was suggested in the original recipe.

This is a tart you have to try out this summer. It can be perfect for a dessert or instead of a cake if you or someone in your family has a summer birthday. It is a must have this season, and I will surely be making it many times again!

Enjoy 🙂

  2. Stunning, and this didn’t take you days to create? It’s an especially impressive bit of artistry, given how challenging it is to work with mangoes, what, with the pit and the skins and all.

Plus, that bright, cheerful color is incredible. “Too pretty to eat?” It would be, if you weren’t so adept at creating perfection. This must be your Culinary PhD thesis.
