- 1 lbs (0.5 kg) of strawberries
- 1/4 cup of brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp of corn or potato starch
- 1 3/4 cups of flour
- 2 tsp of baking powder
- pinch of salt
- 3/4 cup of sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup of sour cream
- 1 stick of butter (115 g)
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
Slice the strawberries, and in a bowl, mix them with the brown sugar and starch.
Spread the strawberries on the bottom of a round cake pan.
Melt the butter. Mix all the remaining ingredients together and pour the batter over top of the strawberries.
Bake at 350 F (180 C) for 30-35 min.
Flip the cake over onto a plate after it cools.
I found this recipe on Delish, and as a strawberry lover, I had to give it a try. I rally enjoyed it, but I wish that it was more moist. If you have ways that you use to make a cake more moist, share in the comments down below.
Overall, this cake is perfect for the summer as strawberries are in season, and it is perfect for some summer parties. It presents itself beautifully with the strawberries on top. It is a perfect treat for a lovely summer day.
