  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 of a stick of butter (about 60 g)
  • 1 egg

Mix all ingredients with your hands until they create a smooth dough.

Spread it out in a tart or pie pan.

With a fork, poke some holes in the crust.

Bake at 350 F (180 C) 15-20 min.

  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cup of milk (400 ml)
  • 5 Tbps of sugar
  • 2.5 Tbsp of flour
  • 2.5 Tbsp of starch (corn or potato)

Boil the milk.

Beat the egg yolks with the sugar. Then add the flour and starch then mix until smooth.

Pour a 1/4 of the boiled milk and mix.

Add the mixture to the hot milk and boil until thick.

Whipped Cream

  • 1.5 of heavy cream (chilled)
  • 1 Tbsp of confectioners sugar
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract

Mix all the ingredients until thick.

Salted Caramel

  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream
  • 4 Tbsp of brown sugar
  • 1/4 of stick of butter
  • Big pinch of salt

Melt the butter. Add the sugar and simmer for a few min.

Add the cream and salt.

Boil for 3 min.

Set aside to cool.

On the baked, cooled crust, spread the pudding.

Spread 3 chopped bananas on top.

Spread the whipped cream on top of the bananas.

Sprinkle the cooled salted caramel.

Keep refrigerated for up to 3 days.

A beautiful combination of flavors perfect to get your mind off of the current craziness! In a time like this, the best thing to do is bake. This tart is just what you need to bright up your day working from home and being isolated from everyone. The salted caramel sauce is one I will be using a lot in the future. It is absolutely delicious especially with whipped cream. It can be very versatile and used in anything from desserts to beverages.

  1. Fascinates the eye from the beginning, before the other senses make their moves. The varying layers of sweetness come together to create a delightful, sophisticated medley. Similar, I suspect, to a creamy Bananas Foster.

    Wonderful inspration!
