Cake Discs

  • 2 2/3 cups of flour
  • 1 cup of honey (liquid)
  • 3 eggs
  • 6 Tbsp of sugar
  • 3 Tbsp of sour cream
  • 2 tsp of baking powder

Mix the eggs with the sugar.

In a separate bowl, mix sour cream with baking powder and let it foam and rise.

Pour honey into the egg mix.

Add the sour cream and mix everything.

Then, add sifted flour and mix everything well.

Spread 2 Tbsp of the batter on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 F (180 C) for 5-7 min. Make as many disks as your batter allows. Make them the size of your spring form.

  • 6 cups of sour cream
  • 15 Tbsp of confectioners sugar
  • Juice of 1 lemon

Mix all the ingredients and cool in the fridge.

Once all the disks have cooled, spread the cream on each disc and cover with the next.

Crumble on disc on the top for decoration.

Refrigerate over night.

This is another recipe from a fellow blogger, Lithuanian in the USA. When I spotted this recipe on her blog, I knew I wanted to make it for my graduation. I am very happy I did. The honey flavor is perfect for any season, but especially for winter and the Christmas time.

The cake was a great success. Everyone really enjoyed it and wanted a second piece. It was the perfect addition to my graduation which already was such a wonderful occasion. The sweetness goes great with the slightly sour cream. I will definitely be making it again in the summer with some fresh fruits!

  1. Congratulations on your achievement, both in terms of the graduations, and…

…the cake! Only recently have I discovered the dessert potential of sour cream and honey. For one cake to use both…outstanding!
